Remmenga

Copio una de las muchas (e interesantes) reflexiones de Remmenga, una persona de especial afinidad al otro lado del charco.

Someone said to me yesterday, "I think that our safety is much more important than our freedom. We should punish people who say the wrong things"... She told me this during class and it took everything I had to remain calm and not throw her out of the lesson. This kind of thinking is spreading faster than you can imagine. And not just outside of the United States but within its borders. We can disagree on politics, religion, economics, marriage, education, unions, and just about everything else, but if you call yourself an American, I think you should represent the fundamental ideals of freedom to express yourself.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin
